During the war, soldiers serving on the fortress next to their premises prepared for the siege time also had kitchens. One of them was formerly located here. The facility was adjusted for preparation of meals. Four large kitchen ovens that used to stand here were designed for cooking. Between the ovens you can see two small niches for drums for water needed in the kitchen. The kitchen also had a sewer. In the early 19th century, there was no full time cook in the Prussian Army; soldiers were divided into small, 5-person groups and they had to prepare their own meals during war time. They collected a proper ration of food supplies and ingredients required for cooking.
