It is one of the town’s oldest and most remarkable church complexes. The place has a turbulent history strongly linked with the history of the Franciscan Order in Kłodzko. Construction of the church and the monastery is believed to have begun around 1270. The church was severely damaged by a great many floods devastating the town. The present Baroque church was erected in the early 17th century. The frescos on the refectory ceiling in the monastery, painted by Felix Anton Scheffler, have survived until this day. For a brief period of time the monastery was turned into the first print shop in Kłodzko.
